Angelina Jolie asks Brad Pitt to ‘stop fighting’ and drop tense legal battle over winery
Angelina Jolie wants ex-husband Brad Pitt to “end the argument” over the former couple’s French winery.
Jolie’s legal team is seeking more evidence to prove Pitt wrong after he sued the actress in 2022. Pitt sued Jolie after the “Maleficent” star sold her stake in Miraval and asked a judge to declare the sale “null and void.”
Most recently, Jolie asked Pitt to hand over third-party communications related to the 2016 plane incident. Jolie and Pitt reportedly had an altercation on the plane, and the actress filed for divorce shortly afterward.
“Mr. Pitt controls all of the assets the couple shares and controls the business, yet he still demands more, and is suing Angelina for $67 million plus punitive damages,” Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, told Fox News Digital in a statement. “In doing so, Pitt has questioned why he sought to punish and control Angelina by demanding a new and expanded NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse. Those actions are at the heart of these proceedings.”

“We are not surprised that Mr. Pitt is afraid to submit documents that prove these facts,” the attorney continued. “While Angelina has repeatedly asked Mr. Pitt to end the fight and finally put their family on a clear path to healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws the lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations are false.”
However, a source close to Pitt’s response to Jolie’s request told Fox News Digital that the lawsuit against the winery is a “simple business dispute.”
“This is a straightforward business dispute, but unfortunately the other side keeps bringing up personal factors that expose weaknesses in their case and complicate and prolong the proceedings,” the source said.

Pitt’s response to Jolie’s request to share information with third parties related to the 2016 plane crash focused on privacy concerns.
“Jolie fails to meet her burden of demonstrating that the relevance of the documents she seeks outweighs Pitt’s countervailing privacy interests — particularly given the publicity surrounding the parties and this case — or that viable alternatives that serve the same interests or that would mitigate the loss of privacy are insufficient,” according to the July 11 filing obtained by Fox News Digital.
The actor’s legal team claims Pitt has proposed other “possible solutions” in addition to publicly releasing the evidence Jolie has requested.

The former couple bought a controlling stake in Chateau Miraval in 2008 and spent time at the home throughout their relationship. Jolie attempted to sell her company, Nouvel, to Tenute Del Mondo, a subsidiary of Stoli Group, in 2021, essentially transferring her 50% ownership in Miraval. Pitt opposed the sale, claiming the move violated their contract.
Meanwhile, Jolie’s company accused Pitt of masterminding a “revenge campaign” to “loot” profitable business operations since she first filed for divorce in 2016.
Nouvel accused Pitt of “misappropriating” Château Miraval and “wasting” company assets on unnecessary renovation projects, including spending $1 million to renovate the pool, according to court documents previously obtained by Fox News Digital.
